The Community Foundation Wakefield District’s annual Unsung Heroes awards shine a spotlight on the people and groups from across the Wakefield District.

The organisers received the most ever nominations in 2024 and our WF3 Kindness team were delighted to be chosen as one of the winners announced at the glitzy ceremony at Wakefield Cathedral on Friday evening.

WF3 Kindness were nominated in recognition for the work we have done throughout our communities, including the thousand kindness packages, nearly 600 food parcels, the community fun days and Easter trails and even our own community awards.

Members of our Leadership Team were honoured to pick up this trophy on behalf of our entire team, volunteers, sponsors and supporters and celebrated achievements from across the district with other community groups, members of the business community and dignitaries.

Our Founder, Dan Frank, said: This award is for everyone that has supported us over the last 4 years.

"The events and programs that we run don't just organise themselves and our leadership team deserve a lot of credit for everything that we do along with our amazing volunteers, sponsors and partners and everyone that has ever supported us. Thank you.
